Make Wi-Fi and email QR codes
A Wi-Fi QR lets guests join your network by scanning instead of typing the password. An email QR opens a message draft with the address — and optional subject and body — already filled in.
Both are made on this page in your browser. The network name, password, and email fields stay on your device.
How to make a Wi-Fi or email code
Step 1
Open the generator and pick a tab
Use Wi-Fi for guest access. Use Email for a contact card, poster, or handout. There is no sign-in.
Step 2
Fill in the Wi-Fi fields
Enter the network name (SSID) and password. Leave security on WPA for most home and cafe networks. Turn on hidden network only if the name does not appear in the phone’s list.
Step 3
Or fill in the email fields
Enter the address the scan should write to. Add a subject or body if you want the draft ready. The code uses a standard mailto link.
Step 4
Preview, then download
Scan the live preview with a spare phone before you print. Save PNG for stickers and slides, or SVG for a logo file that you will scale later.
Wi-Fi details that usually work
WPA is the right choice for almost every modern password-protected network, including WPA2 and WPA3. Choose open network only when there is no password. WEP is there for older hardware.
Type the network name exactly, including spaces and capital letters. If a scan fails, check the password and whether the network is hidden. Some older phones need a QR scanner app instead of the built-in camera.
Email codes for contact cards
Keep the address short and correct. A subject such as “Table booking” or “Quote request” helps when many people will send the same kind of message.
The draft opens in the phone’s mail app. QR Kit does not send the email. If you also need a website or a Wi-Fi login, make a separate code — one scan, one action is easier for guests.
FAQ
Will a Wi-Fi QR share my password with QR Kit?
No. The network name and password are turned into a code in this browser. They are not uploaded to generate the code.
Which Wi-Fi security should I pick?
WPA for most home and cafe networks. Open only if there is no password. Use hidden network when the name does not show up in the phone’s list.
What does an email QR actually open?
A mailto draft with the address filled in, plus any subject and body you entered. The visitor still taps send in their own mail app.
Why did the Wi-Fi scan fail?
Check the network name, password, and security type. Confirm hidden network if needed. Try another phone — some older cameras need a scanner app.
