QR Kit is a static web app. Generation uses a browser QR library, so passwords and links stay on the computer or phone in front of you.

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. QR Kit is free to use with no account and no watermark. You can generate and download as many QR codes as you need.

Does my data leave the browser?

No. Encoding happens on your device with a client-side library. The text, URL, Wi-Fi password, or email you enter is not uploaded to our servers.

Which QR types can I create?

URL, plain text, Wi-Fi network credentials, and email (mailto) messages. Choose a tab, fill in the fields, and the preview updates live.

Can I change the color and size?

Yes. Set foreground and background colors, output size from 128 to 1,024 pixels, quiet-zone margin, and error-correction level before you download.

What file formats can I download?

PNG for sharing and print-ready rasters, and SVG for crisp scaling in design tools or the web. Both files are produced locally.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes do not expire. They keep working as long as the encoded content remains valid — for example, while the website or Wi-Fi network still exists.

Can I use the QR codes commercially?

Yes. You own the files you generate. You are responsible for the content you encode and for following applicable laws and third-party terms.

Why is the Wi-Fi QR not connecting?

Confirm the SSID, password, and security type (WPA is right for most modern routers). Hidden networks need the hidden-network option enabled. Some older phones need a QR scanner app.
